莱昂内尔·里奇近年来在走下坡路，不过他在中国却在走上坡路，一批批新的听众长大了，不仅要翻出这位卷发黑人的名作《Hello》和《Say You Say Me》，还要听听他更多的，代表了80年代R&B演唱典范的作品。这位总是把西装袖子撸起来的老兄，曾是第一位与中国人进行过交流的美国流行歌手，不过那是在中央人民广播电台的电波里。有一阵子，到处都在放他的《Say You Say Me》，但相比之下，还是《Hello》更为深远悠扬。事实上，《Hello》始终被里奇当作演唱会的开场曲，像所有经受了时间考验的歌曲一样，它也带着悲剧式的严肃。Hello, is it me you're looking for?（你好，我是不是你正在寻找的？）我们不妨从罗曼·罗兰的书中找寻类似的句子：“黑夜中的火把，让孤身前进的人们相互看见，知道自己并不孤独。”人们隔着千山万水，最后终于在命运的驱使下相遇相知，仿佛故友重逢，相见恨晚，这样的爱情或者友情，你有过吗？正因为大伙都同意那种古老的感觉，所以，当听到这首歌的时候，就像隔着暗夜向蒙胧中的亲人呼唤，激动而又亲切。
